The purpose of the STRIDE animation project is to engage the local community and collaboratively create a piece that can be exhibited in line with wider arts endeavours of Creative Folkestone Triennial and Folkestone Fringe events to be held in the summer of 2025 to provide our families with a sense of belonging.
STRIDE will be in the form of a walk-cycle of a figure where each frame is individually embellished by every pupil from the Folkestone Turners Trust Schools along with all employees in collaboration with the artist Toby-Melville Brown. It is the intention that this piece bridges the gap between the established arts community and the local community who feel underrepresented or outsiders to the aims of regeneration and the creative quarter, who do not engage with the notion of arts being of value or accessible.
