To work towards an increasingly diverse staffing profile

Turner Schools has due regard for our duties under the Equality Act 2010 to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations. The Turner Schools Equality and Diversity Policy incorporates gender equality, race equality and disability equality which sets out our commitment to promoting equality and community cohesion and eliminating discrimination and harassment.

Through our ethos, we will continuously strive to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity. Each faculty colleague in our Academies will be given fair and equal opportunities to develop their full potential regardless of their gender, ethnicity, cultural and religious background, sexuality, disability or special educational needs and ability.

Equal opportunities will underpin all policies and will be a factor underpinning the monitoring of all aspects of Academy life and achievement.

  • We believe that the broad range of cultural and other experiences that a diverse workforce brings will help the Trust develop and succeed

  • We foster an inclusive culture that promotes equality of opportunity, values diversity and maintains a working, learning and social environment in which the rights and dignity of our staff are respected.

To support staff in personal and professional development

Turner Schools is committed to the wellbeing and development of all Faculty colleagues, so that everyone has the opportunity to become ‘experts’ in their roles. Consequently, all colleagues are entitled to regular guidance, both formally and informally, whatever their roles.

  • We actively encourage staff at all levels to participate in planning their personal and professional development, enabling them to reach their full potential.

  • As a trust, we encourage knowledge sharing and internal progression opportunities to support development and reward and retain staff.

  • We strive to continuously strengthen and promote our development programmes for all staff.

  • We have developed a pioneering Leadership Development Programme across the Trust as we are committed to developing our people in order to grow our own talent and develop staff from within. (insert link to this on webpage)
