Turner Schools Introducing our new Head of School at Martello

Introducing our new Head of School at Martello

News : 17 June 2019

Mr Wayne Beech, the new Head of School at Martello Primary, joined Team Turner in April.

Mr Beech joins Martello from a large primary school in Ramsgate, where he was Deputy Headteacher, SEN Coordinator and the pastoral lead. He has been in post since April 23 and has quickly developed a strong working relationship with Michele Sowden-Mehta, Executive Principal for Martello and Morehall Primary.

He has purposely spent his teaching career in challenging schools where he can have the greatest impact, choosing to spend his time with pupils who have had a similar background to himself, growing up in a challenging area and going to the local comprehensive. His aim is always to work towards ensuring all pupils have a level playing field, and he is determined to ensure Martello pupils can access the same opportunities as children at any other school in the country.

Away from school, Mr Beech spends his time with his wife, who is herself a Deputy Headteacher, and their two sons.

Wayne Beech, Head of School at Martello, said:

“My first ambition for Martello is to create a real feeling of stability – I’m here for the long-haul. I know how great Martello is, and how amazing our pupils are, and I want to show that off to the world.

“Everyone at Martello has high expectations for the school’s success, and our pupils have a fantastic attitude to their own learning. Working together we’re going to make sure everyone at the school reaches their full potential.”
