Turner Institute

As part of our mission to transform children’s futures, empower families and strengthen communities, we are committed to the development of everyone working at Turner Schools and in the wider education community.

To achieve this, we have created the Turner Institute to support all staff to realise their leadership potential by providing high quality teaching and leadership development opportunities, thereby enabling colleagues to develop their talents and discover exciting new career paths.

Our courses are delivered by our expert leaders who have proven track records in school improvement as well as national reputations for delivering high quality CPD. Those leading our courses draw from their experience advising for LAs and MATs, as well as their previous roles at Ofsted and as London Challenge Partners. You can see their work in the TES Expert Panel series focusing on SEND; in their facilitation of NPQs for the Ambition Institute, and in their work for the National Centre of Excellence initiative. Many courses also feature external guest experts.

Courses vary in duration and commitment, from one-off sessions to courses with a number of modules. All teaching and leadership courses are free for members of the Turner Schools faculty. For those outside of Turner Schools, we are offering many of our short courses free of charge, or for a small competitive fee to cover the costs of accreditation. Courses are made up of online and face to face sessions as well as one-to-one coaching (course dependent).
